Mission Statement:
Mills High School provides a safe, vibrant, and inclusive learning environment that promotes equitable opportunities for all students to achieve academic goals while giving them the tools and resources to access personal growth, well-being, and balance.
Schoolwide Learning Outcomes - Our students are EPIC:
- Effective Communicators and Collaborators.
- Positive contributors to the community
- Individuals who are healthy, self-reliant, and responsible.
- Critical Problem Solvers and Creative Thinkers
Mills High School-Wide Goals:
- Based on the academic achievement and school climate data, there remains a need for further development as an equity-centered, culturally responsive school that centers authentic relationships, cultural relevancy, inclusivity, and connection for all students.
- A disproportionate number of our Latinx population are identified to receive special education services, indicating a need to focus on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), especially at the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels.
- Mills needs to create learning environments for students that are both rigorous and humanizing, uplift student voice, promote deep learning and engagement, and authentically assess student academic growth. (achievement data, empathy interviews, student interviews).
- Create partnerships with families that are inclusive and culturally responsive, and that recognize the unique needs of each family in supporting the whole student.
- Strengthen the structures and protocols for Departments and PLCs to support students, collaborate on lessons, and share student work and assessments that inform teaching and instructional practices
In our diversity is our strength!
