Welcome

The Mills Social Science Department is committed to the engagement of students in the fields of history, economics, government, and global events in order to promote an understanding of their past, the world around them, and possibilities for the future. We emphasize free and safe discourse and hope to foster inquiry and debate among our students, who come from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. 

The Department has developed high literacy standards, so students can expect to become stronger readers, writers and critical thinkers. Teachers work individually and collaboratively to meet the needs of all students and provide a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate the many different learning styles our students possess. We also offer a variety of academic electives in order for students to experience many career options available to them after high school. WE MAKE SOCIAL SCIENCE FUN!
